ANOTHER MATTE PAINT IdEA

Here is another rough concept for a matte paint idea. Basically it is a shot from the Singapore Flyer and I intend to turn singapore into a super busy city with a train in the middle ground on the ECP. As for the background I will add more buildings. Here is the rough concept art.

Matte Painting Concept

Here I had thought of doing a urban jungle idea, where the cites is covered up with plants and also its kind of a gloomy feeling where all the building is dirty and tearing apart. Here is the concept art for the idea.



Ok for the foreground building I intend to model them and for the camera movement I wanted to slightly crane up and at the same time pans across the foreground building.

New Ideas

I had to put on hold for the psychic shopping project as I had no permission to shoot in a supermarket. So now I concentrating on matte painting with camera projection. Here is a rough tryout I had done following a tutorial. I had done 3 other tutorial but could not get it right until this one. Basically its a 2d photo that I had projected in maya and extrude the surfaces and gave a camera movement to give a sense of depth to the pic.

What To Do?

Its been a while since I update my project, the reason being I still have no location to shoot. Basically that really effected my progress. All the supermarket that I had write in to had rejected. So after some discussion with Kalene, she had adviced me to work on stills and shoot my talent on green screen. So yesterday night we went to a 24 hr supermarket so that there will be not many people around and ask the permission from the team leader of the supermarket which is a really nice guy and he agreed to it. But he told ask to wait for the crowd to get lesser than we get the pics. So we waited for another 2 hrs and when we get back, he apologised to us saying that he have to check with the manager before we can take the stills. So basically I am in real trouble. Most probably I have to change to a new idea. but here are the progress of my work so far.

LOCATION SHEET

This sheet is done so that I will get organised when I am on the day of shoot.
I have planned my camera position and which shot I will take at the same camera position.

Initially I was closed to secure this supermarket so I had went down and took a pic and edited it but they had rejected also.

Here is a trail of camera mapping I had done with a still pic in after fx. It looks really funky but sadly it seems that I had to change to another concept.





VEINS EFFECT

Here is a try out of the veins popping out effect its very subtle but it looks fine for a draft first attempt.

The detergent seems better because its more heavier and that will give a reason for the guy to struggle to lift it.

Location Recee Update

Here is my first location update. After weeks of just shoot and run in the supermarket, I eventually have to seek a formal permission to film in the supermarket. So far I have contacted these few stores and get their emails:

Still waiting for the school to prepare for me the letter so when its out I will immediately email them and hopefully I get a positive reply.
